He started his law enforcement career in Antrim County as a part-time corrections officer and a seasonal marine deputy. After completing college and the police academy, he was hired by the Bellaire Police Department as a patrolman. From there, he went on to be a deputy for the Antrim County Sheriff’s Office. During that time, he was a field training officer, a SWAT team member, and a sergeant. He has been serving as the undersheriff of Otsego County Sheriff’s Office since January 2013. He leads a department of 27+, which includes deputies, sergeants, corrections officers, school resource officer, Straits Area Narcotics Enforcement undercover officer, civil division deputies, work camp corrections officers, seasonal recreational patrol positions, and administrative assistants.
